JournalEdge is a trading journal and analytics service operated by Karmadhi Solutions Private Limited (“Karmadhi,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the JournalEdge mobile and web application at journal-edge.karmadhi.in, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use the app.
Account information
- Email address, display name, and optional profile initials
- Authentication credentials (passwords are stored as secure hashes; we never store plain-text passwords)
- Sign-in method (email, Google, or Apple)
- Profile avatar, if you upload one
Trading journal data
- Trade records you create, including symbols, market type, entry/exit prices, position size, profit and loss, notes, tags, and lifecycle status
- Chart screenshots or images you attach to trades
- Custom tags and app preferences (such as currency and date/time formats)
Technical and usage information
- Device type, operating system, app version, and general diagnostic logs needed to operate and improve the service
- Session tokens used to keep you signed in
- Login activity metadata (such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, and success/failure) for security and fraud prevention
- Locally stored app data on your device when you use offline or guest features
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the JournalEdge trading journal and analytics features
- Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions
- Sync your trades, tags, and preferences across devices when you are signed in
- Calculate performance metrics and analytics shown in the app
- Send transactional emails (such as password reset or account verification messages)
- Respond to support requests
- Detect, prevent, and address security issues, abuse, or technical problems
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Third-Party Sign-In
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic profile information from that provider (such as your name and email address) as permitted by your account settings with that provider. Your use of Google or Apple services is also governed by their respective privacy policies.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: We use trusted vendors to host our infrastructure, store files, deliver email, and operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations to protect it.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and Karmadhi Solutions Private Limited.
- Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not share your private trade journal content with other users unless you explicitly choose to export or share it yourself.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your account and trade data are stored on secure servers. Files you upload (such as chart images) are stored in encrypted cloud storage. We use industry-standard measures—including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and hashed credentials—to protect your information.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work hard to safeguard your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and journal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we must retain certain records for legal, security, or backup purposes.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your account information through the app settings
- Export your trade data using in-app export features
- Delete individual trades or clear journal data within the app
- Request account deletion by contacting us
- Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children’s Privacy
JournalEdge is not intended for users under the age of 18 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding agreement). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
9. International Users
JournalEdge may process and store information in countries other than where you live. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to facilities located outside your country, where data protection laws may differ.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or by email. Your continued use of JournalEdge after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
